Metamorphosis 27 NOV 2024 Human history is the journey from necessity to freedom. It began with the hardscrabble times of old. Prehistory. This was necessity at its highest possible, and freedom at its lowest possible. Time moves, man improves. With technology, ideas and such, we tip-toe from the precariousness of that age. Necessity fades, freedom grows. But progress has growing pains. The Leviathan has cancer. Cells hyper-replicate, taking more nutrients for themselves. Necessity is enforced, and freedom is stymied. Any cancer left untreated kills its host. This is set to happen within the lifetimes of many born today. You and I are bacteria, set to decompose and digest the host after the inevitable. From decomposition comes nutrients. From nutrients comes a beautiful garden. After the collapse, we will come to learn from our mistakes. We, the children of necessity, will not die like our parents. The wheels of history resume their long-interrupted motion. Time moves, man improves. Necessity fades and freedom grows. Necessity fades to nothing. Freedom grows to everything. Humanity has reached apotheosis. The Common Task is fulfilled. Death, necessity and suffering become completely optional--even controlled. The greatest artistic project in the history of everything begins then and forever after.
